We are seeking a Head of Finance to take ownership of the finance function within WessexLifts, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and reliable financial information while strengthening financial controls and processes. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to someone looking to step up and develop into a Finance Director position over time. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving the quality of reporting, strengthening balance sheet integrity, and enhancing cash management across the business.

The group includes Stone Hardy and Wessex Lifts, employing around 280 people across multiple sites. With turnover currently at £30m and plans to exceed £45m in 3+ years, this is an opportunity to contribute to a growing and evolving business.

Financial Reporting & Control (Core Focus)
  • Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts
  • Improve the quality, clarity, and reliability of management information
  • Full ownership of balance sheet integrity, including robust reconciliations
  • Ensure strong financial controls across all processes
  • Lead the audit process and manage external auditor relationships
Cash & Working Capital
  • Manage day‑to‑day cashflow and short‑term forecasting
  • Improve visibility and control of the cash cycle
  • Work closely with operations to optimise working capital
Process Improvement
  • Identify and implement improvements across finance processes
  • Increase efficiency, accuracy, and consistency of outputs
  • Support ERP system utilisation and data accuracy
Team Leadership
  • Support and develop the existing finance team
  • Ensure accountability, structure, and clear responsibilities
Commercial Support (Developing Area)
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Provide analysis to support operational decision‑making
Qualifications
  • Part‑qualified, newly qualified, or QBE (ACCA / CIMA / ACA)
  • Strong technical grounding in management accounts and controls
  • Proven experience improving reporting accuracy and processes
  • Good Excel skills
  • Hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and accountable
  • Ambitious and motivated to grow into a more senior role
