The Role
Wessex Internet is excited to offer a great opportunity for a driven and confident Sales Executive to join our team. The role would suit someone who enjoys selling, building relationships, working towards clear targets, and making a positive impact; particularly in rural communities, by promoting our ultra-fast broadband packages.
You’ll be responsible for handling both inbound and outbound calls, engaging in campaigns, selling fibre packages and managing customer interactions through our CRM. While previous experience with these tools is a plus, we’re happy to provide full training to the right candidate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining a strong pipeline, hitting sales targets, and ensuring all customer interactions and opportunities are managed to a high standard.
- Actively promote and sell ultra-fast fibre broadband packages to residential and business customers, with a particular focus on rural communities.
- Handle inbound sales enquiries and conduct outbound calls to generate new business and follow up on leads.
- Engage in targeted sales campaigns, contributing to the development and execution of initiatives that drive growth.
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline, managing prospects through the entire sales cycle—from initial contact to closing the deal.
- Achieve and exceed individual sales targets and KPIs, contributing to the overall performance of the Sales team.
- Accurately manage and update customer data using CRM and billing platforms to ensure a seamless customer journey and reliable records.
- Follow up on marketing-generated leads, converting interest into orders through clear, confident, and compelling communication.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams (e.g., marketing, customer support, and technical teams) to ensure consistent messaging and support across the customer lifecycle.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer queries, delivering a high standard of service in every interaction.
- Manage opportunities, cases, and correspondence (emails, calls, CRM tasks) efficiently and in alignment with company service standards.

- Confident communicator - You’re comfortable with outbound calling, re-engaging customers, and applying effective retention strategies.
Preferred Skills (Desired but not essential):
- Previous experience working in retention, renewal, customer support or sales would be advantageous.
- CRM knowledge - Familiarity with CRM systems (Sales force) advantageous.
- Telecoms experience - Previous telecoms / utilities experience with knowledge of internet services is beneficial.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- An understanding or appreciation of rural communities and their broadband needs.
Full training will be provided with an extensive onboarding process.
