This is a hands‑on field‑based role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in delivering quality work and has experience within telecoms network construction.

What’s in it for you?

  • A starting salary of up to £27,000 - £36,000, dependent on experience.
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays, with the option to buy/sell up to 5 days.
  • Private medical insurance and life assurance.
  • Cycle to Work & Tech purchase schemes.
  • Enhanced family leave policies.
  • Staff broadband discount (75%).
  • High street discounts on 100+ brands.
  • Summer & Christmas team socials.
  • Career development opportunities – Whether you want to lead a team or learn new skills, we’ll support your growth in our fast‑moving business.

What you'll be doing

  • Installing overhead and underground fibre optic cable within Openreach PIA and Wessex Internet infrastructure.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, network plans and specification sheets to complete installations accurately.
  • Installing sub‑duct and fibre cabling in accordance with company and industry standards.
  • Carrying out on‑site surveys to validate planned routes and identify practical or cost‑effective alternatives where appropriate.
  • Producing accurate as‑built records and collecting installation data.
  • Completing overhead and underground survey reports, including test rodding and roping where required.
  • Liaising professionally with colleagues, customers and office‑based teams throughout the delivery process.
  • Supporting other operational teams where required to meet customer commitments and project timescales.
  • Working safely within highways and street works environments, following all Health & Safety procedures and Street Works legislation.
  • Ensuring company vehicles, equipment and tools are maintained and used appropriately.

We're looking for someone who has

  • Previous experience installing fibre optic networks within Openreach PIA and/or other telecoms infrastructure.
  • The ability to read and accurately interpret network drawings, plans and technical specifications.
  • The confidence to work independently while managing their workload effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • A high level of attention to detail and pride in delivering quality workmanship.
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety requirements, including safe working practices within highways and street works environments.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Relevant PIA accreditations, including SA001, SA002, S7 and S8.
  • NRSWA Signing, Lighting and Guarding accreditation.
  • The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
