About The Role
Are you ready to kick-start a hands-on career in the motor industry? At Wessex Garages, we\’re offering a fantastic opportunity to train as an Apprentice Vehicle Technician – learning from the best while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.
As An Apprentice Technician, You’ll Be Part Of a Dynamic Workshop Team, Learning How To Keep Vehicles Running At Their Best. From Mechanics To Modern Vehicle Electronics, Your Training Will Give You a Solid Foundation In All Aspects Of Servicing And Repair. You Will Learn To
- Carry out regular maintenance in line with manufacturer specifications.
- Identify faults and make the necessary repairs or part replacements.
- Work closely with Service Advisors and Technicians to keep customers informed.
- Provide accurate repair time estimates.
- Log service and repair work clearly and accurately.
Training and development
You’ll receive a minimum of 36 months of training, leading to a Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle) qualification.
Your training will include a mix of day release learning at our manufacturer hubs and hands-on experience at our dealership, with support from experienced mentors.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need experience – just a real interest in vehicles, a willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic. We’re looking for someone who is:
- Motivated and enthusiastic about developing a career in the automotive industry.
- A good communicator, team player, and someone who takes pride in their work.
- Detail-oriented and safety-conscious.
- Holding GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above is desirable.
- A full driving licence is helpful but not essential.
