Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and motivated HVAC Fitter’s Mate to support our team in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their skills in the HVAC industry while working alongside experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Installation and Maintenance: Assist the HVAC fitter in the installation, servicing, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Handle tools, materials, and equipment required for daily tasks. Prepare job sites by ensuring all necessary materials and tools are readily available.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to health and safety guidelines and ensure job sites are kept clean and hazard-free. Assist in the safe transportation and handling of materials and equipment.
- Equipment Handling: Load and unload HVAC components and tools. Safely operate hand and power tools under supervision.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of materials used and tasks completed. Communicate effectively with the HVAC fitter and project team regarding project progress.
- Customer Interaction: Maintain a professional demeanour when interacting with clients on-site. Address basic client queries or refer them to the senior fitter when necessary.
- General Assistance: Perform general labour and support tasks as required. Assist in troubleshooting basic HVAC issues under supervision.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential: Basic understanding of HVAC systems or willingness to learn. Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment. Physically fit and capable of handling manual labour. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Preferred: Previous experience in HVAC, plumbing, or a similar trade. Familiarity with tools and equipment used in HVAC installation and repair. Relevant certifications, such as a CSCS card or equivalent.
