Wessex ME is part of the andwis technical services group of companies based in Yeovil and North Dorset, but operating predominantly throughout South Somerset, Dorset, West Hampshire, & South Wiltshire.
Due to our ongoing success, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Commercial Gas, Oil & Domestic Gas Engineer to join our growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who takes pride in delivering high-quality service, maintenance, and installation work across a range of commercial and domestic properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, repair, and install commercial and domestic gas heating systems.
- Service, maintain, repair, and install oil-fired heating systems.
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs on a variety of heating appliances and systems.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive call-outs.
- Carry out domestic gas safety checks, boiler servicing, and landlord safety inspections.
- Ensure all work complies with current gas safety regulations and industry standards.
- Complete job reports, certification, and documentation accurately and on time.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional approach on-site.
- Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota.
Essential Requirements
- Valid Commercial Gas qualifications (CODNCO1 or equivalent).
- Valid Domestic Gas qualifications (CCN1 and relevant appliances).
- Oil qualifications (OFTEC preferred or equivalent).
- Proven experience working on commercial and domestic heating systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- LPG qualifications.
- Experience with plant rooms, boilers, burners, and heating controls.
- Experience with domestic boiler installations and repairs.
- Electrical or BMS knowledge.
- Health & Safety qualifications (e. g. IPAF, PASMA, First Aid).
