Salary: Up to £33,000 - £38,000, based on skills and experience

Contract Type: Permanent - 35 hours a week

Location: Hybrid working (office based in Oswestry) – typically 2 days in the office per week

Make a Difference in our Technology department

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to balance day-to-day systems administration with involvement in a range of impactful transformational projects, as we continue an exciting period of change and technological growth. In this role, you will be accountable for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our IT systems, while also providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure our IT infrastructure remains robust, fit for purpose, and aligned with business needs. This position offers the opportunity to broaden your technical skill set as we adopt new technologies, while playing a key role in shaping and supporting our evolving IT landscape.

Your Impact Here’s how you’ll make a difference:

  • Ensure the availability, performance, and security of IT systems, meeting agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • Deliver assigned internal projects and support other System Administrators with technical implementations.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the IT Service Desk, ensuring high-quality support to colleagues.
  • Support IT Operations planning, budgeting, and lifecycle management of systems, identifying solutions for future needs.
  • Maintain accurate, high-quality system documentation and records.
  • Uphold information security standards, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure systems are secure and regularly tested.
  • Provide senior technical support and act as an escalation point, assisting with 1st/2nd line support when required.
  • Communicate effectively across IT, Practice Plan Group, and the wider Wesleyan Group.
  • Mentor and support junior team members and undertake relevant training as required.
  • Work in accordance with established policies and procedures.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience working with Windows operating systems, including Active Directory and Azure.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs within LAN environments.
  • Experience configuring and managing virtualised environments (e.g. VMware).
  • Experience working with IT security controls, including vulnerability management and remediation activities.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining a range of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and network components.
  • Experience working within a team providing support across multiple IT services.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies as required.
  • Experience contributing to the delivery of IT projects.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Broad IT support skills, including operating systems, common productivity tools, and hardware troubleshooting.
