About the role
Wesleyan is on a continued journey of transformation across all areas of the business, which means our Change team have multiple projects to own and deliver. We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support us in delivering these critical initiatives and other BAU projects. The role involves thinking ahead, anticipating business impacts, spotting opportunities or risk outside of day to day scope and remit, influencing decisions with foresight, above and beyond reacting to existing requirements. Driving impactful change for our customers.
What we're looking for
- Experience as a Business Analyst, delivering outcomes across a full project lifecycle in Agile and/or Waterfall environments, ideally in Financial Services or Regulatory work
- Working closely with leadership and business unit leads on complex projects and initiatives to inform and align to business strategy, this role is more than just performing the analysis, there is scope to really shape strategic outcomes
- You will act as a key bridge between technical teams, and non-technical stakeholders. This will require the ability to collaborate, facilitate understanding, reconvey technical terms and language into easy to interpret communication, building consensus, and driving solutions that support strategy
- Beyond creating documentation, you will be accountable for engagement with business users and key sponsors, aligning cultural shifts, and ensuring growth mindset for seamless adoption to new ways of working
- Adaptability to assess and apply the most appropriate analytical techniques to uncover core business issues and needs
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; adept at handling diverse requirements and aligning understandings across teams
- Operating with dynamism to gain buy-in from subject matter experts and senior stakeholders
- Demonstrating resilience through effective decision-making under pressure; able to keep projects on track when issues arise
- Leading with integrity, a collaborative team player who can also mentor or coach others
- Professional qualifications (ISEB, BCS, or IIBA) are desirable, but not essential
What you’ll be doing
- Estimating, planning, and scoping the business analysis workstream
- Gathering and refining requirements; analysing processes; supporting pre-project assessment
- Critically reviewing proposed solutions; flagging risks/assumptions; ensuring alignment with business needs
- Preparing key project documentation: business requirements, process mapping, user stories/use cases, KPI reports, benefits realisation plans, risk and issues logs etc.
- Facilitating workshops, focus groups, and collaborative planning sessions with stakeholders and subject experts
- Supporting implementation to deliver measurable business benefits
- Acting as a technical knowledge custodian, change advocate, and cultural champion
- Building strong relationships with business users, senior operational management, customers, and third parties
