Your role: We’re looking for a Transfer Agency Oversight Manager to join our operational oversight team at Wesleyan Unit Trust Managers Ltd and make a real impact. This is your chance to step into a management role and gain hands‑on experience in operational oversight within a unique and niche environment. In this role, you’ll lead the day‑to‑day delivery of the WUTM Oversight Team, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer outcomes. You’ll manage the relationship between Transfer Agency and SS&C, driving performance, monitoring compliance, and resolving issues with clear “path to green” planning. Your work will directly influence customer experience and regulatory standards. You will also deputise for the Senior Oversight Manager when required, providing leadership and continuity at a senior level.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage delivery of all day‑to‑day operational performance for WUTM and manage all administrative and operational requirements for WUTM.
- Manage escalations between WUTM, wider Wesleyan Group including distribution channels (tied financial advisors) and transfer agency, SS&C including but not limited to complaint and feedback resolution and timely management of query resolutions.
- Design and manage the reporting of oversight, operational performance and delivery of mandatory and customer‑driven change to senior committees.
- Manage assessment of WUTM Operational (COBS, COLL, SYSC, PRIN, DP) and Client Money (CASS) breaches and incidents ensuring good customer outcomes have been met on resolution, and provide feedback and ensure process improvement opportunities are implemented internally and/or with SS&C.
- Manage timely delivery of bi‑annual statements, CASS statements and all relevant client communications pre‑ and post‑sale for WUTM customers to a high regulatory standard.
- Support the review of product and fund documentation, working closely with Investment Strategy and Product Strategy management.
- Assess and review operational risks and controls to ensure 1st line regulatory monitoring is completed to excellent standard, and where required change is implemented to ensure controls remain effective and operational risks are mitigated.
- Ensure there are adequate oversight arrangements of outsourced fund administration to govern and oversee the operational effectiveness of Systems & Controls designed to achieve compliance with FCA rule.
Experience in operational and CASS oversight of third‑party transfer agency administration.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook experience.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to lead and motivate a team.
Assertive, takes ownership of work/accountability and has an organised and flexible approach to work.
Qualifications:
- Level 3 Certificate in Investment Operations – successful candidates required to complete with 24 months.
- Demonstrate and maintain a good level of knowledge of UCITS/unit trusts/emerging regulatory trends, COBS/COLL/SYSC/CASS/PRIN rulebooks.
- Experience in operational and CASS oversight of third‑party transfer agency administration.
