Make a Difference in Data and Analytics. As the Head of Data & Analytics you will create and lead a Data Centre of Excellence, translating data and analytics into business strategy. This role will drive business performance through better data-driven decision-making, ensuring the Board has an improved understanding of the markets we compete in and how to improve business performance.

You will be accountable for leading a transformation in the data capability of the organisation. The role will direct and shape the way we measure and examine data from multiple disparate sources, developing and reporting compelling insights that provide a competitive advantage.

As a member of the COO Senior Leadership team, you will develop and deliver a track record that is recognised as a high-quality operations organisation by colleagues, customers, stakeholders and peers, whilst ensuring value through cost and process efficiency.

Your Impact. Here’s how you’ll make a difference:

  • Lead the design, development, implementation and embedding of a new Data Centre of Excellence. This will include operating model, organisational structure, technology, governance, people and process.
  • Develop, implement and lead a forward-looking customer centric business intelligence and data strategy team that empowers people across the organisation to support business and group strategies. Components of the COE will include enterprise data warehouse, BI & analytics, content management and data governance.
  • Define the data, analytics and insight roadmaps to support the Society’s agenda to maximise profitability and drive revenue.
  • Work with the Executive and Board members to create a culture that treats data as a cross-group asset.
  • Lead the data and analytics team to deliver the solutions that fulfil the Business information needs and align with the information vision and strategy.
  • Lead, manage, motivate and develop the teams to create a high performing culture and ensuring individual and collective contribution meets the current and future needs of the business.

What You’ll Bring:

  • An accomplished Senior Leader, with experience in leading cross functional teams and group wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organisation and within complex contexts.
  • Exceptional business and commercial acumen.
  • Extensive experience of initiating, developing and executing complex data insight to support development of operations strategies, plans and processes.
  • Prior experience of delivering a data transformation, including operating model and technology would be a strong advantage.
  • Proven track record of leading large teams of colleagues who operate in specialist functions such as Data, MI, Analytical, Modelling and Planning.
  • Experience in delivering insights that inform business decisions and drive customer journey strategies across all business areas, with an appreciation of a high-volume data environment.
  • Ability to proactively identify opportunities in data to drive outstanding client experience for the company, employing a 'customer first' mindset in the establishment of all new data and analytical processes.
  • Gravitas to develop a framework for information management, as well as to sell and embed it in all levels of the business.
  • Experience in strategic technology planning and execution and policy development and maintenance.
  • Gravitas to operate across business lines at all levels within the Society up to and including Group Board, with the ability to influence, effect and embed change to achieve common goals.
