The role

As a Senior Risk Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enabling the successful delivery of high-impact projects across nuclear services, clean energy, and international programmes. You will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of risk and opportunity management practices, ensuring robust decision-making across the full project lifecycle.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Developing and implementing project risk and opportunity management plans aligned with business and commercial requirements
  • Analysing risks and producing insightful performance reports with clear recommendations to stakeholders
  • Building and assuring quantitative risk models covering cost, schedule, and uncertainty analysis
  • Managing contingency and ensuring risks are aligned with financial and commercial objectives
  • Delivering training and guidance to project teams to embed best practice in risk management

This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at one of our key locations in Leicester (Leicestershire), Bristol or Warrington (Cheshire), with travel to other Cavendish and customer sites expected.

Essential experience of the Senior Risk Manager:

  • Demonstrating experience in risk management within a highly regulated industry such as nuclear, defence, or infrastructure
  • Applying advanced risk modelling techniques, including quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis
  • Building and developing robust risk models to support project delivery
  • Working in specialist risk or opportunity management roles across the project lifecycle
  • Understanding contracting methodologies such as FIDIC, NEC3/NEC4 or JCT

Qualifications for the Senior Risk Manager:

  • A relevant qualification in risk management or project management (desirable)
  • Professional certifications in planning or project controls (advantageous)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and SC security clearance for this role.
