The role
As a Vehicle Conversion Technician, you’ll be at the heart of transforming vehicles into mission ready assets. From executive cars to light commercial vehicles, you’ll oversee bespoke conversions that support critical operations across defence and emergency services. This is a hands‑on role where your craftsmanship and attention to detail will directly contribute to national safety and operational excellence.
Day-to-day you’ll be:
- Handling minor mechanical tasks such as brake fluid changes
- Removing and fitting seats, panels, roof linings, door cards, and interior trims
- Stripping and refitting entire vehicles for conversion
- Preparing vehicles for specialist upgrades and modifications
- Installing and removing automotive components and switch gear
Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time. This is a full‑time, permanent position working 40 hours per week on‑site at Walsall. Working hours are Monday to Friday, with an early finish every Friday to support work‑life balance. Start immediately after clearance checks are completed.
Essential experience of the Vehicle Conversion Technician:
- Previous experience in an automotive environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Demonstrated commitment to high engineering standards

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) + Non Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) security clearance for this role.
