The role
As an Electrical Vehicle Technician, you’ll be part of a skilled and dedicated team that designs, builds, and supports customised vehicles for the UK’s emergency services and security organisations. Your work will directly contribute to keeping communities safe and secure. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll apply your technical expertise to fit, repair, and integrate advanced electrical systems into a wide range of vehicles. You’ll be working in a dynamic environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to grow your skills.
Day‑to‑day you’ll be:
- Fitting, repairing, installing and integrating enhanced electrical and electronic systems in motor vehicles
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out rectification work
- Designing and developing electrical solutions for vehicle conversions
- Supporting a range of conversion tasks including mechanical, bodywork, fabrication, welding and painting
- Working safely in an industrial environment, including manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and using tools
Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time. This role is full time, 39 hours per week and is based on site at Walsall. Start immediately after clearance checks are completed.
Essential experience of the Electrical Vehicle Technician
- Demonstrated experience working with vehicles in a similar role
- Proven ability to fault‑find and rectify vehicle electrical systems
- Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical wiring plans and diagrams
- Comfortable working safely in an industrial setting
Qualifications for the Electrical Vehicle Technician
- NVQ Level 2 in a relevant qualification
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain UK ‑ BPSS + Non Police Personnel Vetting 2 security clearance for this role.
