About the Role
- We are looking for customer‑focused people to join our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver solutions to wastewater network and drainage problems.
- Travel to residential sites via a HGV in a two‑person team, around the region, powering a high‑pressure water jet for restoration.
- Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
- Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
- Run diagnostics and repairs on drains.
- Deliver good customer service.
- Maintain good health and safety practice while carrying out works.
- Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
- Comply with health and safety responsibilities, including PPE and safe site setups.
- Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
- Operate JHL specification vacuum tankers and associated equipment.
- Safely access vehicle cabs, sites and offices using correct procedures (e.g., three‑points of contact).
- Manipulate, including loading and unloading to/from tanker pipe storage trays, flexible pipework in a safe manner using correct manual handling techniques.
- Work unsupervised in all weather conditions, wearing correct PPE or utilising the lone worker system.
- Dynamically risk assess site access and working conditions depending on specific circumstances on arrival.
- Liaise with the client regarding process and any updates.
- Provide support to colleagues.
- Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before and after use.
- Report any defects or malfunctions.
- Carry out risk assessments and have a mature approach to risk perception.
- Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them.
- Perform any other reasonable ad‑hoc tasks, duties or projects as requested by management.
About You
- The ideal candidate will be hard‑working and respectful, and comply with health and safety standards.
- Experience in the use of high‑pressure jetting equipment is useful but not essential.
- Other drainage qualifications (e.g., NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage.
- You must have a minimum of a HGV Class 2 licence, completed the CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence), and have an up‑to‑date digital tachograph card.
