Lead structural excellence on fast-jet aircraft and shape the future of UK defence aviation. At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as a Structures Supervisor at RAF Valley, near Holyhead, Isle of Anglesey.
The role:
- Oversee structural repair and maintenance activities on military aircraft, ensuring safety, quality, and contractual output.
- Coordinate technicians, manage resources, and promote best practices in compliance and safety.
- Supervise and direct technicians, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
- Carry out 1st and 2nd signature responsibilities and deputise for the Team Leader when required.
- Control manpower allocation and monitor work for compliance with regulations and documentation accuracy.
- Promote quality and safety management practices across all structural maintenance activities.
- Contribute to design, development, and maintenance of aircraft structures and systems.
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is based at RAF Valley, Holyhead.
Essential experience:
- Strong engineering knowledge and practical skills in aircraft maintenance.
- Proven experience in primary, secondary, and tertiary structures.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
- Evidence of stakeholder engagement and effective communication skills.
Qualifications:
- City & Guilds 2675 Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in Aircraft Maintenance (or equivalent).
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Qualified and experienced in airframe structural repair techniques.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a related engineering environment.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
