The role:

As a Satellite Operations Supervisor you’ll play a key role in supporting 24/7 military satellite operations, ensuring the reliability, safety and performance of essential communications systems. This is a leadership position with real responsibility supervising an operational team, coordinating technical responses, and maintaining operational integrity in a high‑availability environment. Your work directly supports national security while giving you the opportunity to grow as a leader in a technically advanced, fast‑paced operational setting. You’ll gain exposure to complex satellite and network systems, strengthen your people‑management experience, and build a career that combines technical challenge with long‑term development.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate for all problem reporting activities and the execution of 1st and 2nd line rectification tasks in support of Network Operations.
  • Monitor and control communications systems, always ensuring operational integrity.
  • Report, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system alarms and anomalies.
  • Work closely with other stakeholders and operational support teams to ensure delivery of satellite services and follow safe working in line with site Health and Safety and Radiation policies.
  • Support the Satellite Ground Station 24/7 operational team, ensuring effective resourcing, performance management and adherence to operational standards.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Oakhanger, Hampshire.

Essential experience:

  • Proven experience maintaining and fault diagnosing equipment used in satellite communications, including control and monitoring systems.
  • Systems engineering experience.
  • Experience of working to safety procedures.
  • Good organisational skills, ability to prioritise workloads, with a sense of autonomy.

Qualifications:

  • HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or relevant experience.
  • CompTIA Network+ or relevant experience.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Sole UK only. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
