The role

As a Project Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a key role in delivering construction and infrastructure projects across the Rosyth site. You'll work closely with contractors, customers and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. This role offers exposure to the full project lifecycle, making it an excellent opportunity to broaden your technical, commercial and project management expertise while contributing to programmes that help keep the UK safe and secure.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Managing projects through the full lifecycle, from planning and procurement to site delivery and handover.
  • Coordinating contractors and site activities within a live operational environment, resolving challenges and maintaining progress.
  • Monitoring project schedules, budgets and risks to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety and CDM regulations through inspections, reviews and robust project controls.
  • Building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, providing regular communication throughout project delivery.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Rosyth.

Essential experience of the Project Engineer

  • Experience delivering construction or infrastructure projects within engineering, industrial or facilities environments.
  • Strong contractor management and site coordination experience.
  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation, particularly CDM 2015.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from planning through to completion and handover.
  • Experience using project management tools to manage budgets, schedules and project risk.

Qualifications for the Project Engineer

  • HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety qualification.
  • IEMA Introduction to Environmental Awareness or a similar environmental qualification.
  • Willingness to achieve APM Practitioner level project management accreditation.
  • Degree in Engineering or a related discipline is desirable.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
