The Role
As a Programme Manager - Delivery, you'll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll take a leading role within one of the most high-profile and complex engineering programmes in the UK. Working within our Marine business, you'll be responsible for driving successful delivery across a major heavy engineering contract, ensuring critical customer requirements, operational objectives and financial targets are achieved. Reporting to the Programme Director, you'll lead a team of Senior Project Managers and multidisciplinary project teams responsible for the delivery of complex engineering solutions. This is a unique opportunity to influence a programme valued at approximately £500 million in revenue while working closely with customers and senior stakeholders on projects that directly support national security.
Day-to-day, you'll be required to:
- Lead and inspire a team of Senior Project Managers and project teams to achieve programme delivery objectives.
- Drive programme performance across scope, cost, revenue, margin and cash flow targets.
- Manage customer relationships and engage regularly with senior commercial stakeholders.
- Oversee the successful delivery of complex engineering and manufacturing activities in line with contractual commitments.
- Champion high performance, continuous improvement and effective risk and opportunity management across the programme.
This is a full-time role based at Ashton House, Bristol, working 37 hours per week. Hybrid working patterns are available, with onsite attendance expected 2 to 3 days per week to collaborate with colleagues, customers and production teams.
Essential experience of the Programme Manager - Delivery:
- Extensive experience managing large, complex heavy engineering programmes from design through to manufacture and delivery.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and project controls practices.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing project delivery teams.
- Demonstrable experience delivering customer contracts within complex engineering, manufacturing, energy, aerospace or defence environments.
- Ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at senior leadership and customer level.
Qualifications for the Programme Manager - Delivery:
Essential:
- Degree qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Recognised project management qualification such as APM Project Management Qualification, Chartered Project Professional, or equivalent.
Desirable:
- Additional programme management, leadership or commercial management qualifications.
