The role:

As a Procurement Specialist, you’ll play a vital role supporting high‑value infrastructure and engineering projects at HMNB Clyde. You’ll ensure the right goods and services are secured at the right time, cost and quality — all while maintaining compliance, managing risk and driving value for money. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a complex, high‑impact environment where your expertise directly influences operational success and long‑term capability. You’ll partner closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, contribute to continuous improvement, and develop your commercial skills across regulated defence procurement.

Day‑to‑day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Supporting procurement activity for projects and requirements valued over £10,000, from requisition through to purchase order
  • Managing supplier relationships, performance, and order books, resolving aged debt and delivery issues
  • Delivering competitive tendering activities, including evaluation, scoring, negotiation and contract award
  • Driving cost savings, risk mitigation and value through data analysis, due diligence and continual improvement
  • Ensuring full compliance with supply chain governance, policy, contract terms and security requirements.

You’ll work 36 hours per week, based at HMNB Clyde. Hybrid working patterns are available, helping you balance flexibility with meaningful on‑site collaboration.

Essential experience of the Procurement Specialist:

  • Working within structured supply chain or procurement processes in a regulated environment
  • Applying contractual terms, supply chain clauses and governance frameworks effectively
  • Using enterprise systems and tools for procurement, document control and supplier management
  • Analysing data to identify efficiencies, risks and cost‑saving opportunities
  • Conducting supplier due diligence, onboarding and ongoing performance management

Qualifications for the Procurement Specialist:

  • Qualified by experience in procurement, supply chain or a commercial discipline

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
