The role involves providing accurate, timely financial insight and control across key programmes, helping to maximise value, performance and profitability. You will work closely with project and business leaders to ensure strong financial governance, support decision-making and contribute to the successful delivery of complex defence infrastructure.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Producing monthly and quarterly project financial reports and status packs for management and senior leadership.
- Analysing project performance, supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial control activities.
- Maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring robust audit trails and compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Raising customer invoices and managing financial documentation in line with contract terms.
- Supporting project teams with financial insight to enable effective decision-making and delivery.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 3 days in the office/onsite.
Essential experience:
- Strong working knowledge of financial systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in financial reporting, analysis and project or management accounting.
- High attention to detail and ability to work to high quality standards.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working within a structured, regulated or project-based environment.
Qualifications:
- Recognised accounting qualification such as Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Association of Chartered Accountants or equivalent.
- Experience with financial systems such as Integrated Financial Systems or business analytics tools - Desirable.
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
