The role involves ensuring that protective security is embedded, coordinated and assured across major defence infrastructure projects. Acting as the focal point for project security, you’ll provide leadership and oversight across personnel, physical, information and cyber security domains. Day‑to‑day, you’ll help project teams interpret and apply security requirements proportionately, support informed risk‑based decision‑making, and ensure statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations are met.

In return, you’ll gain exposure to complex, high‑profile programmes and develop a deep understanding of security across the full project lifecycle, strengthening your long‑term career in defence and security.

  • Coordinating protective security across personnel, physical, information and cyber security domains
  • Ensuring compliance with MOD, contractual and corporate security policies and standards
  • Supporting project teams with secure access arrangements for people, assets and information
  • Maintaining security documentation, registers and supporting risk‑based decision‑making
  • Promoting a positive security culture through engagement, guidance and awareness activity

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience:

  • Experience working in a security‑focused role within the UK Defence industry
  • Understanding of personnel, physical, information and cyber security principles
  • Experience working with MOD security documentation such as DEFSTAN, DEFCON and ISNs
  • Knowledge of security risk management within project or operational environments
  • Membership of a professional security body would be advantageous

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognised Security Controller or equivalent security training (desirable)
  • A Level 5 qualification in Security Risk Management or similar would be advantageous
  • Relevant professional experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
