The role is out of the ordinary. You will play an important role in supporting the successful delivery of high profile submarine projects. This is your opportunity to work at the heart of defence, aerospace and engineering, contributing to projects that are critical to national security. You will help ensure that engineering and material requirements are planned effectively throughout the project lifecycle, providing the structure and clarity that enables our production teams to deliver with precision.
Day to day you will be required to:
- Liaise with procurement teams, supply chain partners and Ministry of Defence representatives to ensure material deliveries meet project schedules.
- Monitor and track engineering and material requirements to identify potential delays.
- Report progress to the Senior Production Planner and highlight any issues promptly.
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project success.
- Participate in regular review and stand up meetings to support accurate reporting and your own ongoing development.
The role is based onsite at Devonport, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 35 hours per week.
Essential experience
- Ability to engage effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive approach with a desire to learn and succeed in a busy team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with SAP, PEPS, Coupa or submarine systems is preferred, however training will be provided.
- Confident in creating and developing reports using Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications
- ONC or NVQ Level 3 in engineering or a relevant functional discipline.
- Relevant experience in a similar role may also be considered.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
