What you’ll do:

  • Installing, aligning and assembling mechanical components to precise tolerances
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics and technical specifications
  • Operating workshop machinery and specialising tools safely and effectively
  • Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems
  • Conducting functional testing, leak detection and pressure testing to verify performance

What you’ll need:

  • Proficient in the maintenance and troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic, rotating, and static mechanical systems with a marine, nuclear, heavy mechanical, or industrial environment.
  • Proficient in laser alignment, vibration analysis, and system commissioning/decommissioning.
  • Self-driven with a strong commitment to career development and continuous improvement.
  • Holds a time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering/Fitting.
  • Experienced in mentoring apprentices and sharing technical knowledge with peers.
