The role
As an Engineering Design Manager, you’ll play a critical role in delivering some of the UK’s most significant and complex engineering infrastructure projects. These projects form part of a major multi‑year investment programme designed to support the future requirements of the Ministry of Defence, including new berthing and docking facilities essential to Astute‑class submarine maintenance.
Day-to-day, you’ll lead technical delivery throughout a project’s lifecycle, ensuring that designs for safety‑critical facilities are robust, compliant and delivered to the highest standards of quality.
- Scope and manage the technical delivery of engineering projects across all lifecycle stages.
- Support the Design Management Group in developing and delivering complex design solutions within safety‑critical facilities.
- Secure, organise and lead internal and external resources to meet project demands.
- Ensure design outputs are fit for purpose and aligned with budgetary and schedule requirements.
- Develop and apply structured design processes appropriate to both conventional and nuclear facility applications.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 2 days in the office/onsite.
