The Role
As a Document Controller, you’ll play a key part in a major transformation helping shift the organisation from paper-based information to fully digital systems. Your work will influence how vital data is stored, managed and accessed for years to come. Day-to-day, you’ll ensure that essential technical documents are accurately captured, digitised and maintained. You’ll help prepare information that supports critical defence, marine and engineering projects, making sure teams have the reliable data they need to work safely and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and digitise hard copy documentation for processing.
- Quality-check and index electronic images to the required standards.
- Ensure all digitised materials meet agreed time, quality and accuracy expectations.
- Support core Technical Information Centre (TIC) activities as directed.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to keep projects on track.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience
- Strong computer and keyboard skills, including use of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to solve problems independently and proactively.
- Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with others to deliver high-quality outputs to time and budget.
- Experience in digitising hard copy documents - Desirable.
Qualifications
- GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration.
- Additional administrative or document-management-related certifications - Desirable.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
