The role:
- As a General Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll lead a small, multi-skilled team responsible for delivering essential site maintenance and facilities support.
- From ensuring safe and compliant environments to driving operational efficiency, your role will be central to maintaining critical infrastructure that supports defence operations.

- You’ll help shape maintenance strategies, enhance safety standards and contribute to the success of important national programmes.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Supervise a small team of estate and household maintenance workers as well as the supervision and development of Health and Safety Processes on site to maintain site compliance to relevant ISO standards.
- Development of maintenance procedures policies, and schedules for both household and estate maintenance teams.
- Maintain technical and administration records and provide information as required, liaising with other technical teams to ensure completion of works.
- Supervise contracted staff to ensure that work is carried out to agreed standards and respond to maintenance works required and ensures completion.
- Undertake both estate and household maintenance as required with evaluation of estate and buildings to determine necessary maintenance work.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based at Skelton, Cumbria.
Essential experience:
- Possession of a current full UK driving licence.
- Demonstrable experience of general building maintenance and cleaning techniques.
- A comprehensive knowledge of current safe working practices and safety procedures.
- Basic Computer skills including email, Word, and spreadsheets.
Qualifications:
- CSE or GSCE grade D – E, or NVQ level 2.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
