The Role
As a Mechanical Technician, you’ll work in the Early Rectification maintenance environment, undertaking detailed maintenance activities on aircraft and components. You’ll demonstrate diagnostic skills, work effectively within a team, and provide guidance to less experienced members in a dynamic operational setting.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
- Performing scheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and fault rectifications.
- Reviewing operational performance of aircraft components and systems.
- Analysing and diagnosing faults to components and assemblies.
- Maintaining compliance with technical standards and MOE procedures.
- Supporting tooling and test equipment control task.
This role is full time working 36 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Valley, Anglesey.
Essential experience of the Mechanical Technician:
- Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship (Aeronautical or equivalent).
- Minimum City & Guilds 2675 or NVQ Level 3 in Aeronautical Engineering.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Ability to work unaided to approved data and maintenance instructions
Qualifications for the Mechanical Technician:
- Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent apprenticeship.
- Airframe and Propulsion trade training.
- Computer literacy.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
