The role:
As a Maths Tutor, you’ll deliver engaging and high-quality Level 2 Maths teaching to Army apprentices, helping them achieve essential qualifications that support their careers and operational readiness. This is a role where your expertise will make a real difference, not only to individual learners but to the success of apprenticeship programmes that underpin national defence. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your own skills while shaping the next generation of technical specialists.
Day-to-day you’ll be required to:
- Deliver face-to-face Level 2 Maths courses, including algebra, trigonometry, and calculus, to cohorts of up to 16 learners.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and guidance to support learner progress and assessment readiness.
- Carry out invigilation, assessments, and maintain accurate learner records in line with awarding body and ESFA standards.
- Collaborate with quality, compliance, and delivery teams to ensure programme standards are met.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons tailored to diverse learner needs, including SPLDs and neurodiverse requirements.
The role is based onsite at MOD Lyneham, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
Essential experience of the Maths Tutor:
- Proven experience delivering Maths at Level 2.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
- Qualifications for the Maths Tutor: Certificate in Education.
