Shape secure communications that protect national security. As a Lead Site Co‑ordination and Installation Design Authority Engineer at Babcock, you will support one of the United Kingdom’s most critical military satellite communications networks. Working within the Mission Systems business, you’ll oversee complex configuration and installation activities, ensuring infrastructure is compliant, secure, and built to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Configuration control for all engineering installation activities at communication sites
- Liaise with all stakeholders, internal and external, for proposed configuration changes
- Allocate equipment, room, rack and floor space, and conduct quality control of all installations work carried out at sites
- Ensure compliance with appropriate standards (ISO & JSP)
- Capture, catalogue and maintain the Configuration Management for all ICT projects
- Assess quality of all ICT projects to ensure the installation/changes comply with the design and required standards
- Final authorisation on project completion (Certificate of Conformity)
- Complete suitable CMDB processes to maintain the Configuration Management of all hardware and software across the communication estate
Essential Experience
- Experience in an SCIDA role within a Defence setting
- Understanding of security architecture required within compartmented certified environments
- Experience of ICT systems in complex environments
- Knowledge of JSP 604, 440 and relevant BS EN standards
- Experience creating, maintaining, and cataloguing Configuration Management documentation
Qualifications
- CIDA training or evidence of working in a SCIDA role
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. Must be Sole UK National.
