The role

As an Infrastructure Maintenance Fire and Security Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll lead the delivery of essential Fire and Security management across one of the UK’s most strategically important defence estates. Your work will help ensure that critical facilities operate safely, reliably, and fully compliant with regulatory standards enabling the Royal Navy and wider defence community to carry out their vital missions.

Day‑to‑day you’ll be required to:

  • Lead and support your team to deliver compliant Fire and Security maintenance activities across the Clyde estate.
  • Oversee the planning, programming and execution of maintenance to prevent asset failure within your designated area.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to implement and evolve the Asset Management Strategy.
  • Ensure all Fire and Security work meets required legislation, industry standards and contractual obligations.
  • Build strong working relationships with Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Ministry of Defence and Babcock stakeholders.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday and is based on site at HMNB Clyde Faslane.

Essential experience of the Infrastructure Maintenance Fire and Security Manager:

  • Experience working with engineering standards, including SFG20 for Planned Preventive Maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Asset Management practices and ISO 55001 Asset Management Systems.
  • Understanding of NPSA standards for security equipment and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of compliance standards relating to Fire Safety installations and equipment.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships across multiple organisations.

Qualifications for the Infrastructure Maintenance Fire and Security Manager:

  • Engineering qualification (e.g., HNC/HND or Degree) or equivalent experience in facilities, fire or security systems.
  • Professional memberships or certifications aligned to asset management (ISO 55001), fire safety (e.g., NEBOSH Fire), or security systems (e.g., manufacturer or industry-accredited training).
  • Evidence of continuing professional development in risk, compliance, safety or regulated environments.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
