The role

As a Tool Stores Operative, you'll play a vital role in supporting the effective operation of aircraft maintenance activities by ensuring the accurate management, control and traceability of tools and equipment. Working within a regulated aviation environment, you’ll help maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational readiness while supporting the delivery of critical defence services.

Day-to-day, you will be:

  • Managing the acceptance, identification, inspection, registration and monitoring of equipment held within the tool stores.
  • Maintaining accurate records, tracking information and documentation to ensure full traceability of equipment.
  • Supporting stock management activities, reporting shortages, discrepancies, damage or losses through the appropriate channels.
  • Ensuring equipment is correctly labelled, stored, secured and controlled in line with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Assisting with audits, investigations and continuous improvement activities to maintain compliance and operational effectiveness.

This role is full time working 36 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Valley, Holyhead, Anglesey.

Essential experience of the Tool Stores Operative

  • Experience working within a stores, logistics, supply chain or inventory management environment.
  • Understanding of stock control and the importance of maintaining accurate records and traceability.
  • Experience following company processes, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of equipment control, calibration or asset management principles.
  • Ability to work accurately, prioritise workload and maintain high attention to detail.

Qualifications for the Tool Stores Operative

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) clearance for this role.
