Location: Beckton Sewage Treatment Works, North London Region (Ilford, East London)
Job Type: Permanent, full‑time
Hours: 4 On 4 Off, 40.25 hours (working both earlies and lates)
Salary: OTE £50,000 per annum (basic pay, overtime, on call allowance and bonuses)

About the Role:
- Travelling to residential sites via a HGV in a two‑person team, around the region, powering a high‑pressure water jet for restoration
- Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems
- Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided
- Run diagnostics and repairs on drains
- Deliver good customer service
- Maintain good health and safety practice while carrying out works
- Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished
- Comply with health and safety responsibilities, i.e. PPE / safe site setups protecting Lanes Group employees, the public and other road users
- Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms
- Operate JHL specification vacuum tankers and associated equipment
- Safely access vehicle cabs, sites and offices using correct procedures (e.g., three points of contact…)
- Manipulate (including loading and unloading to / from tanker pipe storage trays) flexible pipework in a safe manner utilising correct manual handling techniques
- Work unsupervised in all weather conditions, wearing correct PPE or utilising the lone worker system
- Dynamically risk assess site access and working conditions depending on specific circumstances on arrival
- Liaise with the client regarding process and any updates
- Provide support to your colleagues
- Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before and after use
- Report any defects or malfunctions
- Carry out risk assessments and have a mature approach to risk perception
- Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them
- Any other reasonable ad‑hoc tasks, duties or projects as requested by management
Full training will be provided to ensure safe and competent work.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will be hard working, respectful and comply with health and safety standards.
- Experience in the use of high pressure jetting equipment is useful but not essential.
- Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage.
- You must have a minimum of a HGV Class 2 licence, completed the Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), and have an up to date digital tachograph card.
