The role
As a Mechanical Trade Supervisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll take on a pivotal leadership role within our Fleet Engineering team, delivering complex mechanical work packages that directly support the operational readiness of the Royal Navy. This is a unique opportunity to lead skilled teams through technically challenging projects, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of engineering activities in a highly regulated environment.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Leading and supervising multi-skilled teams to safely deliver mechanical engineering work packages
- Planning, scheduling, and coordinating tasks to ensure delivery against safety, cost, quality, and time targets
- Producing and reviewing technical documentation such as work scopes and method statements
- Managing subcontractors and collaborating with internal stakeholders to support project delivery
- Promoting a strong safety, quality, and continuous improvement culture across all activities
This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday 07:15 – 16:45 and is based on site at HMNB Clyde Faslane.
Essential experience for the Mechanical Trade Supervisor
- Demonstrable experience in mechanical engineering within an industrial or engineering environment
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
- Experience planning and coordinating engineering work packages
- Strong understanding of safety, quality, and operational performance standards
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in a complex environment
Qualifications for the Mechanical Trade Supervisor
- HNC or HND in a mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
