As a Fabrication Supervisor, you’ll lead and manage engineering work packages that support the safe, efficient and high‑quality delivery of Fleet Engineering activities. Working within our Nuclear Repair team, you’ll coordinate multiple streams of work across vessels, ensuring safety, cost, schedule and quality requirements are consistently met.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of engineering work packages across fleet assets
- Plan, sequence and schedule tasks to ensure safe, efficient delivery with minimal conflict
- Manage teams and subcontractors, ensuring capability, performance and compliance
- Promote safety, quality and environmental standards, embedding safe systems of work
- Build strong stakeholder relationships while reporting progress and driving continuous improvement
Please note that this position involves working at height. Candidates must be able to work safely and perform tasks at varying heights. This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday 07:15 – 16:45 and is based on site at HMNB Clyde Faslane.
Essential Experience
- Supervisory experience within an engineering or industrial environment
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry, such as nuclear, defence, marine or heavy engineering
- Strong knowledge and application of safe systems of work
- Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic operational setting
- Capability to work safely at heights where required
Qualifications
- HNC in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent trade experience and technical knowledge
- ILM Level 3 or similar leadership qualification – advantageous but not essential
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This may affect eligibility based on place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and residency.
