The role

As an Engineering Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You play a pivotal role in shaping the engineering solutions that help us secure and deliver major programmes across the nuclear sector. This is a full‑time position, and you will work from any of our main locations including Bristol, Warrington (Cheshire), Leicester (Leicester) and Preston (Lancashire). Flexible working patterns are available.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering inputs for bids and live projects, ensuring safe, compliant and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate engineering scope, schedules, governance activities and resource planning.
  • Shape engineering solutions that are competitive, robust and aligned to customer requirements.
  • Manage engineering risks, safety considerations and verification and validation plans.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, partners and customers to ensure clear communication and technical alignment.

Essential experience of the Engineering Manager

  • Experience working within a highly regulated industry such as nuclear, chemical, defence or aerospace.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively across diverse technical disciplines.
  • Strong commercial and business awareness in a technical environment.
  • Bids experience is not essential – development will be provided.

Qualifications for the Engineering Manager

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent) with significant demonstrable experience.
  • Chartered Engineer status, or actively working towards it.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
