The role:

As a Quality Control Coatings Inspector, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most ambitious shipbuilding programmes – the Type 31 Frigate. This is your chance to contribute to a project that supports national defence and global maritime security, while developing your career in a dynamic, hands-on environment.

Day-to-day you’ll be required to:

  • Manage Inspection Test Records (ITRs) and maintain completion records in CMS.
  • Coordinate third-party inspections and manage inspection schedules.
  • Support the Quality Manager in achieving project-wide quality and governance objectives.
  • Inspect structural and piping coatings in a fast-paced shipbuilding environment.
  • Liaise with Lloyds Register and other verification bodies to ensure compliance.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday and is based on site at Rosyth.

Essential experience:

  • In-depth understanding of coatings inspection and quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent communication and report writing abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Control within Coatings.
  • Ability to assess and assure the quality of work by production teams and subcontractors.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum ICORR Level 2 CIS / NACE Level 2 / FROSIO Level 2.
  • ICORR Level 2 in Thermal and Acoustic Insulation – Preferred.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
