The role:
As a Defence Trainer, you'll deliver specialist instruction on the driving, maintenance, and operation of armoured fighting vehicles, helping to develop the skills and capability of military personnel. This is a unique opportunity to utilise your military experience in a rewarding training environment where you'll play a direct role in supporting operational readiness and national security.
Working as part of a close-knit team of experienced trainers, you'll provide high-quality instruction, assess student performance, and ensure trainees achieve the standards required to operate complex military vehicles safely and effectively.
Day-to-day, you will be:
- Delivering training and instruction on current and future armoured fighting vehicles and associated training equipment.
- Assessing students throughout courses and preparing them to achieve the required test standards.
- Maintaining student records, training documentation, and course administration requirements.
- Producing course reports, statistics, and returns while ensuring training records remain accurate and up to date.
- Liaising with military stakeholders and management teams to support the continuous delivery and development of training programmes.
This role is full time, 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm with a one-hour lunch break, and is based on site at Bovington.
Essential experience of the Defence Trainer:
- Previous military instructor experience with a proven training or teaching background.
- Experience delivering structured training and coaching individuals to achieve required standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications for the Defence Trainer:
- Instructor Qualification from ARMCEN at either Schools Instructor (SI) or Regimental Instructor (RI) level with a recommendation to serve.
- Qualified on Armoured Fighting Vehicles with H licence tracked capability.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
