The role
As an Aircraft Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be supporting advanced aircraft engineering and maintenance operations, from scheduled servicing to Check A inspections, ensuring excellence across all technical services and exceeding both customer and contractual expectations.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on the LAFT aircraft fleet, including aircraft handling.
- Conduct pre‑use checks and scheduled maintenance on ground support equipment, ensuring full documentation compliance.
- Carry out general duties as assigned, such as driving, stores support, and housekeeping.
- Complete all maintenance records in line with current legislation and company procedures.
- Provide technical support to other LAFT sites and participate in extended detachments during Easter and Summer camps.
Essential experience:
- Prepare aircraft for daily operations, including see‑in, see‑off, and fuel/oil replenishment.
- Experienced in military or civilian Part 145 maintenance environments.
- Skilled in aircraft handling within regulated aviation settings.
- Proficient IT skills desirable.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and customer‑facing capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Recognised Aircraft Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
- Proven practical and theoretical engineering competence.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Experience in military or civilian aircraft engineering environments.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) / Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role. Many positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
