The role involves supporting defence operations by ensuring critical communication systems are reliable, maintained, and ready for use. Working as part of a skilled team, you’ll inspect, diagnose, and repair communications equipment used within armoured fighting vehicles, helping to keep essential assets operational.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Inspect and test communications equipment, accurately recording findings and work requirements
- Carry out Level 1 repairs in line with approved procedures and high-quality standards
- Identify faults, order spare parts, and prepare equipment for further repair when required
- Respond to communication equipment breakdowns, both during working hours and on a rostered basis
The role is based onsite at Bovington, with set working times of Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30 and Friday 08:00 to 15:00, totalling 39 hours per week.
Essential experience:
- Be aged 21 or over (vehicle insurance requirement)
- Be physically fit and able to undertake manual handling tasks
- Have a practical, hands-on approach to technical work
- Demonstrate reliability and attention to detail
- Work effectively as part of a team in a safety-focused environment
Qualifications:
- Full UK Category B driving licence
- Security Clearance
