The role

As an E&I Technician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You are at the heart of our operations—responsible for the repair, maintenance, calibration, and testing of Radiation Protection Instruments. Your work ensures that critical systems meet the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and compliance.

Day to day, you’ll:

  • Repair, maintain, calibrate, and test radiation protection instruments to meet customer work demands.
  • Maintain instructions and record information accurately.
  • Conform to local procedures, rules, and working practices to ensure compliance with specified regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical advice, updates on work progress, and other relevant information to customers as required.
  • Act as a mentor for other team members, including apprentices and new entrants, to ensure standards and best practices are maintained.

This permanent role offers 37 hours per week and is based at our Sellafield site, close to Seascale and Egremont in Cumbria.

Essential experience of the E&I Technician:

  • Knowledge and understanding of conventional and nuclear safety.
  • Proven experience servicing electronic instrument systems.

Qualifications for the E&I Technician:

  • Level 3 Electrical Qualification.
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent training in a relevant discipline (e.g., Electronic, Electrical, Instrumentation, Technology).

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
