Support essential aviation operations by ensuring the safe handling, storage and management of weapons and ammunition. At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as an Assistant Armourer at RAF Halton, supporting core activities that help keep personnel safe and operations running effectively.

The role involves working within the Small Arms and Explosives function, supporting the Hades Small Arms/Explosives Supervisor in the day‑to‑day running of the armoury. Responsibilities include:

  • Issuing and receiving service and private weapons, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in line with regulations.
  • Assisting with FFE (Free From Explosives) duties as directed by the Explosives Supervisor.
  • Supporting ammunition processing, accounting, issuing and receipting.
  • Managing daily operations within the Small Arms maintenance bay.
  • Conducting daily checks of weapons, ensuring compliance with required standards.

This is a full‑time, permanent role working onsite at RAF Holton, Buckinghamshire, Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, with opportunities for overtime.

Essential experience:

  • Understanding of a military or similar operational environment (desirable).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and competent numerical skills for accounting tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Explosives Foundation Course (desirable).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
