Wesbell is seeking a responsible self-directed individual to manage the shipping & QA department of Wesbell Milverton and also interface between Fabrication Supervisors & specific office personnel.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Safe operation & oversight on all shipping & yard functions, including loading and unloading goods from vehicles such as flatbed trucks and delivery vehicles.
- Maintaining the respective warehouse spaces, organizing materials, and cleaning the space as necessary, as well as overseeing the inventory items needed.
- Moving loose, packed, or crated materials around the storage facility.
- Stacking & organizing goods in the correct storage areas, following inventory control instructions.
- Overseeing final prep for materials before they leave the facility, including painting & proper shipping QA/packaging.
- Overseeing yard maintenance/layout (including snow removal & grading).
- Counting of inventory and reporting on quantities as needed.
- Helping package materials utilizing overhead cranes/forklifts & maintain a clean & safe environment.
- Interfacing with purchasing to order materials needed that are called up on Bills of Material and ensuring stock levels are sufficient and product is shipped out on time and accurately.
Education (Theoretical Training):
- High school graduate.
Job Requirements & Experience:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including good math, language, and reading skills.
- Knowledge of computer-related skills/tasks, including the ability to read steel drawings & Bills of Materials is an asset.
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others and promote a safe work environment.
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.
- Strong organizational skills including attention to detail, multi-tasking skills, and being a professional team player.
