What Are We Looking For?

Due to continued growth, WES, part of the RSE Group, is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join us on a permanent basis in Pontyclun.

Working alongside the Project Management team, this role will support the successful delivery of projects from handover through to completion.

The Assistant Project Manager will help coordinate technical, commercial and operational activities, maintain effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed programme, quality and budget requirements.

Some of Your Key Duties Include

  • Assist with project planning to achieve optimum WES and agreed client installation & delivery dates.
  • Support the review and coordination of project design information, equipment schedules, P&ID’s, layouts, calculations, etc, ensuring information is appropriate and suitable to achieve project performance requirements.
  • Assist with project cost & budget monitoring, helping to identify opportunities to achieve or improve upon agreed project margins.
  • Support materials & equipment procurement to ensure effectiveness and an appropriate cost / quality balance.
  • Assist with change & variation management & control, maintaining accurate records and supporting appropriate contract administration and communication of changes and variations.
  • Support the delivery of projects in accordance with operational safety requirements, and the company’s and statutory HSEQ policies and regulations.
  • Prepare and coordinate documents & information to allow workshop manufacture / assembly of projects to be efficient & effective.
  • Support the management of customer & WES stakeholder expectations through project review meetings, progress updates, action tracking and regular communication.
  • Assist with planning & preparation of documents & information to allow site installation activities to be undertaken efficiently & effectively.
  • Support the coordination of system commissioning, certification, & documentation.
  • Assist with contract compliance activities including payment applications, notices, submissions and project records.
  • Support the Project Management team in delivering the Business Plan in alignment with the Chem-Bio Group goals & objectives.
  • Engage in the overriding philosophy of Standardisation & Productisation throughout the project lifecycle and support the management of internal & external drivers of such.
  • Support the delivery and tracking of project milestones, with a drive to standardise the products within the Business Stream portfolio.
  • Develop an understanding of contract and commercial terms and support their correct and effective administration.
  • Assist with the interpretation of the WES proposal, client specification & expectations of all parties.

What Do You Need?

  • Experience within an engineering, project, technical or supervisory environment, with an interest in developing a career in Project Management.
  • Engineering qualification such as HNC/HND or above in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Good time management, with the ability to multitask, plan and organise day-to-day workloads within a busy environment.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Driven, proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Innovative thinking, with an ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
