Wernick Hire, the UK’s largest and longest‑standing provider of modular buildings and site accommodation, is looking for a dynamic Yard Operative/Handyperson to be a key player in our thriving depot.

Role Overview
Step into a vital role where your hands‑on skills make a real impact. As a Yard Operative you will be instrumental in the maintenance, repair, and preparation of modular buildings and site accommodation units. Your dedication to efficiency and safety will ensure every task is performed to the highest standards, driving the success of our depot and contributing to overall excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and clean cabins and buildings, including painting and general upkeep.
- Service mobile welfare units to keep them in top condition.
- Conduct site visits to carry out necessary repairs promptly.
- Check and store returned furniture, ensuring it is removed from cabins and placed back in storage.
- Keep the forklift truck in excellent working order.
- Minimise material wastage and assist with safe loading and unloading of cabins, buildings, and materials.
- Maintain a clean and organised yard and workshop at all times.
- Adhere to current health and safety legislation to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in plumbing, joinery, or electrical work is highly beneficial.
- Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload effectively.
