Role Overview – Hire Controller

We are seeking a full‑time Hire Controller to support the team in all aspects of the day‑to‑day running of a busy event hire depot. The role requires excellent customer service, accurate administrative processes and timely delivery. Applicants with experience as a Hire Controller are preferred, otherwise a suitable candidate with strong administrative and customer‑service experience may be considered as an Assistant Hire Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first‑class customer service.
  • Prepare quotations, pro‑forma invoices, hire contracts and related correspondence.
  • Handle and record customer enquiries and source new business.
  • Follow up quotations, enquiries and deposit payments, ensuring funds are received prior to equipment delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records.

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi‑task and prioritise a busy workload.
  • Numerate.
  • IT literate in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience as a Hire Controller or similar in the hire/events industry is a distinct advantage.
