Wernick Power, a recent addition to the Wernick Group, is a national provider of temporary power generation solutions. Established in 1934, the Wernick Group remains a family-run and owned company, with a focus on quality and customer service.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking Service Engineers to uphold the operational functionality and presentation of Wernick Power Solutions (WPS) equipment, including generators, diesel tanks, distribution systems, cabling, and associated ancillaries. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will conduct routine inspections, testing, servicing, attend breakdowns and repairs, and perform installation and commissioning tasks while maintaining our high standards of customer service, safety, and quality. Please note on-call duty is required on a rota basis; additional pay applies for on-call and for any callouts. Location requirement: for this role, you must be located in any of the covered postcodes or within 30 minutes drive.
What You Will Be Doing
- Adhere to and promote SHEQ group standards.
- Achieve optimum, safe productivity levels with designated workload.
- Manage transactional elements of the role (breakdowns, services, PDIs, damage assessments, timesheets).
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Provide Safety Observations for any unsafe practice in the depot or on a customer site.
- Keep overdue servicing below 6% of total fleet in your designated area.
- Maintain training and competencies updated via the PDP skills matrix.
- Provide support outside normal job role as required for the Depot and Service Manager.
- Keep company vehicle in good condition and stocked with appropriate tools, oils, consumables, and safety equipment.
- Seek time to self-develop (relevant to role) via training platforms and structured training sessions.
- Support colleagues as needed and/or when you deem necessary.
- Uphold depot and engineering standards.
Essential Criteria
- Skills and experience in mechanical or electrical disciplines relevant to the equipment involved in the role.
- Adequate skills for performing competent maintenance routines (field service or depot-based).
- In-depth skills for fault diagnosis, dismantling, repair, and testing of the defined equipment type (repair roles).
- Experience in working with generator engines is essential.
Desirable Criteria
- Hold a C&G, NVQ, or other recognized professional or vocational qualifications in the relevant technical discipline.
- In-depth experience in multiple technical disciplines (mechanical and electrical).
- Hands-on experience in service, maintenance, installation, and repair of diesel-driven generators.
