Patient Liaison Officer

Werndale Hospital – Carmarthen. 37.5 hours per week, permanent. Salary up to £32,000 per year (depending on experience, training, and qualification).

Overview

This role is part of the Marketing department at Werndale Hospital, Circle Health Group.

The Patient Liaison Officer will support conversion of self-pay enquiries into self-pay procedures, ensuring a high-quality service for potential patients.

Duties

  • Convert appropriate self-pay enquiries and consultations to self-pay procedures against pre-agreed targets.
  • Ensure a quality service for potential self-pay patients including the accurate and timely response to enquiries from patients, consultants, medical secretaries and the National Enquiry Centre (NEC).
  • Facilitate necessary access times and information required for patients to convert to procedure.
  • Appropriately influence patients to choose Circle Health Group for their procedure.
  • Provide pre-consultation information and indicative pricing accurately and promptly to the NEC and to patients that have enquired directly to the hospital/self-pay office to maximise conversion to appointment.
  • Book appropriate self-pay patients into a suitable clinic appointment.
  • Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Qualifications

  • Customer service experience using telephone, written, and face-to-face communications.
  • Working within service performance standards.
  • Proven influencing/sales skills.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills.
