Software Engineering Intern in Bedford

The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful professional hands-on experience to students with leadership potential and proven academic performance. Werfen hires students majoring in Engineering and Life Sciences fields into this internship program based on business need. Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities:

• To perform entry level work of a routine nature requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related tasks.
• The Intern will be involved in the day-to-day activities of the team, including aiding other departments as they relate to department projects.
• Gain an in-depth knowledge of the product and its associated processes, particularly the process activities in which they will be directly involved.
• Assist in nearly all aspects of the workflow.
• Participate in product design, development, verification, troubleshooting, and delivery of portions of system, major subsystems, or tools.
• Create end-to-end computing solutions for edge and cloud environments using industry standard software engineering practices.
• Collaborate with Digital Solution Team and participate in daily stand ups and meetings.
• Grow with the support of your team and help others on the team grow by providing thoughtful feedback and uplifting those around you.
• Work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced development team, with clear, positive, and constructive communication.
• Assist test automation development by converting functional requirements into Gherkin tests.
• Improve test coverage, reviewing and filling gaps in existing automation.

• Have experience and interest in some (not all) of the following: AWS, Java, Angular, Machine Learning, Agile Environment, Python, and DevOps, Test Automation.
• Awareness and familiarity with industry automation testing tools, frameworks, trends, and best practices.
• Experience reading and writing code in a programming language, including Java/Python development experience.

Qualifications: Minimum Knowledge
