Reporting to the Senior Health and Safety Manager, this role is pivotal to the development and implementation of the health and safety strategy for our sites. The successful candidate will be the lead contact at our offices and responsible for ensuring we achieve our objectives and deliver a best‑in‑class workplace experience.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety queries at ASOS' offices.
  • Lead the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the ISO 45001:2018 management system.
  • Plan and deliver the internal audit programme across our office locations.
  • Oversee the ergonomics and reasonable adjustments programme for ASOS employees in all locations.
  • Conduct workplace, events and fashion shoot risk assessments.
  • Provide pragmatic, risk‑based advice to stakeholders, enabling informed decision‑making.
  • Challenge unsafe practices and support stakeholders to own and manage their risks.
  • Manage health and safety aspects of contractor and supplier activities, including review and approval of RAMS, onboarding and performance monitoring.
  • Deliver the health and safety training programme for the organisation.
  • Ensure first aid and fire marshal compliance across office sites.
  • Maintain and develop emergency procedures for ASOS office locations in line with our standards.
  • Act as Incident Lead Controller for ASOS office locations.
  • Ensure emergency procedures at ASOS office locations are stress‑tested, reviewed and continuously improved.
  • Own the incident reporting and investigation process, ensuring proportionate investigations, robust root cause analysis and effective corrective actions are delivered.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders following incidents, including regulatory bodies where required.
  • Maintain and develop reporting measures and metrics for incidents and near misses.
  • Drive open communication regarding health and safety matters within ASOS, engaging employees and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Co‑ordinate and lead ASOS' Health & Safety Steering Committee.
  • Lead initiatives to strengthen health and safety culture, driving engagement and accountability at all levels.
  • Collect, analyse and report health and safety data to identify trends, measure performance and inform strategic decision‑making.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in producing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced environment with a high volume of stakeholders.
  • Experience in producing and reviewing policies, procedures and guidance for ISO 45001:2018 certified management systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
  • Knowledge of principles around ergonomics, supporting new/expectant mothers and individuals in need of reasonable adjustments.
  • Some exposure to managing risks associated with shoots and events.
  • A NEBOSH qualification (diploma preferred, but not essential).
  • IOSH membership.
