In the course of a vacancy, we are offering the following 2 positions within the Papermaking Department of WEPA UK as Papermaking Operator (PMO).
Your responsibilities:
- Adhere to health and safety policies, procedures, and safe systems of work, including the use of PPE and reporting near misses.
- Ensure compliance with quality procedures to maintain product standards.
- Assist the PM Lead in the safe and efficient operation of the paper machine.
- Operate and monitor the papermaking process from Wet End to Reel End, including auxiliary systems.
- Perform blade changes, reel dressing, reel changes, core loading, and housekeeping activities.
- Conduct Wet End daily testing requirements and support product quality testing.
- Ensure correct product quality data is recorded and maintained.
- Support delivery of the production plan by ensuring timely and accurate machine bookings within the system.
- Monitor and manage machine efficiency (ME), sheet breaks, and waste levels.
- Providing accurate and complete information to the incoming shift through shift handover is key to the role.
- Support EAM maintenance routines completion and assist with operational checks.
Your profile:
- Experience operating industrial production machinery, ideally within papermaking or continuous manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of machine efficiency, downtime management, and production processes.
- Ability to monitor and maintain product quality specifications.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage production bookings and reporting accurately.
- Strong problem-solving ability and a practical, hands-on approach to operational challenges.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and maintain a positive, proactive attitude.
- Commitment to health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Good communication skills to support effective shift handovers and team coordination.
- A sense of responsibility with a flexible approach to meet operational demands.
